Twelfth
House Blues
© 2006 Kat Starwolf All

The night I was born
The stars didn't shine
The dark moon was voided
I was biding my time
'til the trouble kicked in
And the shi* hit the fan
Those Twelfth House blues
Are at it again.
Six planets in Leo is bad
enough
Add my Ascendant, it
starts to get rough
My Chiron opposite my
Venus and Moon
Impossible heartaches
Would start real soon.
My Pluto in Leo, conjunct
my Mars
With Neptune square Uranus
I wouldn't get far
Before fantasies danced
Across the terrain
Of the Twelfth House blues
That cause so much pain.
Six planets in houses
By Neptune are ruled
Mystic illusions,
The Twelfth House Blues.
The night I was born,
The hurricane blew
I was biding my time
And waiting for you
The Finger of God
In retrograde form
Saturn in Scorpio
It blew up a storm.
The Twelfth House blues
Will be the death of me
yet
Then my Sun in Leo
Will finally set.

Writing
and compiling a newsletter is no easy task, as I've come to learn with
the premier issue of Starwolf Astrology's
Astro-Newsletter. Although
it's true that I love to write (and can spend hours doing so!), deciding
on content and filler can be quite challenging. However, with the
completion of our second newsletter, I'm happy to say that we're finally
getting the hang of it.
In
this month's newsletter we'll explore whether astrology is really
destiny masquerading as fate (or are they one and the same?); whether
Sun Sign astrology is valid; whether astrology is, indeed, a valid
science; and who the best and worst drivers out of the 12 zodiac signs
truly are (you'll be surprised, I'm sure). We'll also look into the
meaning of the seeming 'latest' New Age phenomenon gripping the country
in such movies as Mel Gibson's
Apocalypto
and
the fairly recent NBC Monday night TV drama,
Heroes.
Is 2012 merely the Mayan equivalent of the Christian Apocalypse or
Armageddon? Or is it something else altogether? Read on to find out.
And
finally, we have a question for Kat from an
Insightful Heart reader.
Thank
you so much for joining us once again.
Many
Blessings,
~

Do you

believe that astrology teaches that we are fated or destined to
experience specific events in our lives? Well, you're not alone. But

Astrology: Valid Science or Controversial Sham? by
Kat Starwolf
Over
the last century, little else seems to have generated as much
controversy as the belief in and practice of astrology. Not only have
the majority of the world's religions claimed that it is 'evil' and
was spawned by the devil, but the scientific community has claimed
that it is - at best - a superstition; at worst it is said to be
inaccurate and those who offer these services, little more than
charlatans. What do you think? See my article
Astrology: Valid Science or Controversial Sham?for
my views on the matter.

Does Mayan Calendar Predict 2012 Apocalypse?
Is the year 2012 the end for mankind? In
spite of some New Age interpretations, not so, "says Sandra Noble,
executive director of the Foundation for the Advancement of
Mesoamerican Studies in Crystal River, Fla. To render Dec. 21, 2012,
as a doomsday or moment of cosmic shifting, she says, is "a complete
fabrication and a chance for a lot of people to cash in." So, what
exactly is supposed to take place on
December 21, 2012?

Bush.
You either love him or hate him. There seems to be no middle ground
where this man is concerned. And what do the planetary transits have to
say about good ole' 'King' George? Astrologer Lynn Hayes contributes
her two cents in
George Bush, A Look Ahead. "Ever
since George Bush began the debacle known as the Iraq War he has been
going through a series of problematic planetary cycles that have put him
under tremendous pressures and forced confrontations with many of his
friends and associates."

Ask Kat Insightful Heart Relationship Advice Forum
Ask
Kat is a discussion board format for adults who are looking for
compassionate, sincere, and real advice about life, love,
relationships, and all those hurdles we navigate in our lives.
Questions from the Insightful Heart: Relationship Advice Forum:
Dear
Kat:
I'm
really intuitive and have always been able to sense other people's
emotions, especially towards me. But my partner thinks that I'm
imagining things. I wouldn't make an issue out of this particular
situation, except that I'm sensing something underhanded about this
other person's intentions towards me which really concerns me. How do
I get my partner to accept that when I sense things about other
people, I'm usually accurate?
Too
Sensitive
Dear
Too Sensitive:
First, recognize that not everyone is empathic or recognizes their
empathic abilities (which, truly, we all have) and genuinely may not
sense what you're sensing. Try to acknowledge that while you may be
right more often than not, sometimes you might actually be wrong.
That, however, does not mean that you're imagining things. Based on
this, if you determine that you're not projecting, look at your
reasons for sensing whatever it is you're noticing from this
individual. Do you have a history with them? A history isn't always
necessary, but sometimes it can give you better insight into why you
might be feeling what you're feeling. Oftentimes, our own perceptions
cloud our ability to see situations and people clearly. As for your
partner: state that you would appreciate being taken seriously, even
if you're not in agreement on that particular issue, possibly (but
gently) with the reminder that some people are genuinely capable of
empathicly sensing others' feelings. Let your partner know - calmly -
that you feel belittled or discounted by these comments, if that is
how you feel. Finally, leave it to your partner to determine the best
course of action when interacting with you on this subject, rather
than attempting to force your viewpoint. One last thought: if you're
truly sensing that this outside individual is being 'underhanded,' I
think I'd be more concerned with his or her intentions than your
partner's reactions at this point. Either way, good luck to you.
Blessings,
~
Kat
I thoroughly empathize (no pun intended) with the above reader. I,
too, am an empath, and have been frustrated at not being heard
because other individuals believed I was merely imagining things.
As
I mentioned, while we all have empathic abilities, the majority of us
don't listen to that Inner Voice. By the time I was in my mid 40s,
however, I realized that there was something more going on with me
than just that I was
'too sensitive' or imagining things (especially since so much of
what I 'imagined' turned out to be true). What I actually discovered
is that there is a name for those of us who are so sensitive. We are
called
Highly Sensitive People.
Further, there are numerous
websites and
support groups that help an HSP understand that we're not alone,
and that often we aren't imagining things, as even we ourselves have
come to believe. We are 'merely'
empaths.
-
easily
overwhelmed by such things as bright lights, strong smells, coarse
fabrics, or sirens
-
get rattled
when you have a lot to do in a short amount of time
-
you make a
point of avoiding violent movies and TV shows
-
the need to
withdraw during busy days, into bed or a darkened room or some
other place where you can have privacy and relief from the
situation
-
make it a
high priority to arrange your life to avoid upsetting or
overwhelming situations
-
notice or
enjoy delicate or fine scents, tastes, sounds, or works of art
-
have a rich
and complex inner life
-
As a
child, your parents or teachers saw you as sensitive or shy
And of course, there are other indicators.
Addtitionally, there's a
test to help one determine whether or not they are, in fact, an
HSP.
Take heart, if this sounds like you. And know that you're not
alone, nor are you 'imagining things.'
