Greetings!
The theme for this month is
Creativity, Romance & Leadership
The Dog Dayz of Summer have rolled
around once
again,
and is it HOT!!! Time to head for the beach for a little R&R,
which I'll be doing this coming week with a very dear friend.
This is my month, and the time when all Leos get to shine. From
creativity, to romance to leadership, you'll find Leo doing what
s/he does best: being a Leo!
In all fairness, however, there ARE other things going on in the
world.
On a more serious note, the Evolution of Consciousness is
speeding up. Take a look at our first article, which is
actually a video, entitled The Shift. More of us are waking up
and realizing that it's up to US to SHIFT the consciousness of
the planet if we want to hang around for a bit longer. Next,
check out a special Kat's Kommentary,
where I delve into a past I'd just as soon forget, but which
I've found I needed to explore in order to let go of the
emotional pain that's followed me all my life. Then take a look
at the 2nd part of When Planets Collide, if you're
looking at ways to reduce the stress and anger in your life. And
what about all those Planets in Retrograde? How do
they affect us? I've been chided by a few friends who've
reminded me that I need to get this kind of information out to
you before it happens so you'll know about what to expect. And
they're right. My bad.
Then on a lighter note, two prominent astrologers 'grace' us
with their intelligence and wit. Martin Lass tells us all about
the Music of the Spheres, and Gary Goldschneider talks about how
closely related astrology and music really are.
And, of course we have the usual oddments in the Astrological
Hodgepodge section.
Enjoy!
Many Blessings,
~
Kat

Leo
7/23 - 8/22
Yay, Happy Birthday to me! Oops, boy, is that a
Leo for ya! Ok, so it's true. Leos can be egotistical,
bossy, didactic (my kids say I lecture),
Napoleonic (yes, Napoleon was a Leo), did I say egotistical?
narcissistic (I hope that's not me!), look-at-me,
in-your-face showboats. We're hams, the pentultimate actors and
just love center stage! Well, most of us. Leos
are usually extremely creative, and while all the other
signs are, too, Leo does
rule the 5th House. But we are also known to be loving, generous,
romantic, affectionate, loyal, sexy, wild, adventurous,
courageous, leaders, and though we can roar
if our mane is ruffled, we're normally big
pussy cats unless you mess with our loved ones. And for all you
Geminis out there: we really don't
bite. We're big kids at heart (which Leo
rules, along with the upper back), and
absolutely adore children! (Maybe that's because we can identify?)
What more could you want? Oh yeah, there are 11 other signs.
Well, Leo is more than willing to share the kudos, if not always the
spotlight. But give us a chance. You may find that, even with all
the grand-standing, once you tame the beast, you'll have a devoted
pet for life.
Happy Birthday Leo!

Kat's
Kommentary:
Chiron, Soul Perspectives & Sacred Contracts
Recently I had the honor of having my article,
Chiron, Soul Perspectives & Sacred Contracts,
'reviewed' by astrologer Lynn Hayes of Astrodynamics.com. Actually,
Lynn read my natal chart which accompanied the article and
elucidated some very salient points. As I stated in the article,
the purpose for my sharing my life with others, is to help anyone
who has had a life even remotely similiar to mine, realize that
there is light at the end of the tunnel, a way out of the
darkness. IF we choose to see it. Living in the past can be
excruciatingly dibilitating, as I can attest from experience.
Especially when we continue to blame ourselves for things we are
unable to change. For your sake, and for the sakes of those you
love, if your past is anything like mine and you still haven't
sought help in alleviating the pain, I urge you to do so as soon as
possible. Even if it's merely to read the books I mention in my
article. Make a start. I firmly believe that one of the reasons
that the world is so full of hatred, violence and war is because the
majority of us haven't learned to transcend our pain and
anger-filled pasts. Please love yourself. Because in so doing, you
love the rest of the world. ~ Kat
Kat Starwolf has written a
blindingly raw and open article
about her own horrific early life that was filled with abuse of
all kinds. I copied and opened the image of her chart which shows
a twelfth house of Fate packed with six planets. Whenever I hear a
history that is fraught with abuse I always think Pluto and sure
enough, there he is on the exact degree of Kat's ascendant,
linking the dark side forever to Kat's destiny. But there is
another side to Pluto: Empowerment. Pluto sends us into the
Underworld where we must face death, rage, abusive experiences,
and ultimately we have to let go just as we do in death. But when
he brings us out of the Underworld, Pluto bestows a mantle of true
Power.

Planets in Retrograde: Do 'Backward-Moving'
Planets Affect us? by Kat Starwolf
At
the time of this writing - late July, early August, 2007 - six
planets are in retrograde motion, though by the time this article
comes out Jupiter will have gone direct. Astronomers and other
scientists tell us that retrograde planets have no affect on us.
But then, they also tell us that the planets in direct motion have
no affect on us, either. However, astrologers - professionals whose
job it is to study the affects of the planets on human behavior -
have learned otherwise. Thanks to these individuals, most of us
can now recite the effects of direct motion planets. But what about
retrograding planets? Do they truly have an affect on human
behavior? And if so, what are they? Taking into
consideration that the effects of retrograde Mercury can be
frustrating enough (if not wreck havoc on our otherwise well-laid
plans) to what do we have to look forward with the influence of
these currently retrograding planets?

Music of the Spheres
We Are the Music
Who
are we, really? Everything in the Universe has a vibratory rate or
frequency, including the human body. Because it now looks as though
everything may also be composed of strings (Super String theory), it
would stand to reason that when these strings are 'plucked,' they
vibrate, as Pythagoras demonstrated. Depending on the thickness or
density of the string, specific sounds are created. It's believed
that the Earth, herself, vibrates to the frequency of the musical
note F# (sharp). This, allegedly, is the aggregation of all the
vibratory sounds produced by everything on the planet (rocks,
plants, animals, air, electricity, etc.)
Likewise,
the human body is also composed of vibrational frequencies, the
ground work for which is laid out in the 'sheet music' or blueprint
known as our astrological natal chart. How fitting that the various
planets which make up our solar system, would be the 'band members'
which collectively creates or produces the 'song' that determines
our individual personalities, which are further and more
specifically defined by the date, time and place of our birth which
might correspond with the musical time signature.
According to astrologer/musician, Martin Lass in his excellent
article, The Music of the Spheres "The
symphony of the planets and Sun is the Music that gives each of us
our unique Song. The Song of the planets and the Sun at our birth
is imprinted within us. This is what astrology seeks to convey.
Our Song is a microscopic and holographic rendering of the greater
Song of the solar system. If we could hear the Song that is within
our Hearts, we would be hearing the Music of the Spheres." Read

Musik Astrologique: The Cusp
of Magic
The Cusp of Magic is the name
of a piece by modern composer Terry Reilly and performed by The
Kronos Quartet and a Chinese pipa player called Wu Man.
And the Cusp of Magic is the theme of
the final programme in the series which looks at music influenced
by this magical time of the year, mid June - one of the most
important points of the astrological calendar, the Summer
Solstice.Concert pianist
and astrologer
Gary Goldschneider (photo)
believes that many
composers
were influenced by astrology in some way and that the cognoscenti
can recognize clues in them that would go unnoticed by the
uninitiated.
"Composers were pretty keyed into the
metaphysical aspects of magic and music; magic and music -
magician musician. It's no accident that those words are often
used interchangeably," he says. Read

The
Road to 2012: We
Have Now Entered the Most Crucial Time
We have now entered the most
crucial
"time" in all of human existence, the opportunity to transcend the
materialistic / Dualistic world view and commune with the divine
energy of creation, unity with all that is. I have always held
true to my writings that "We are all One", connected to all that
is, the cosmos, nature, flowing with the same universal life
force, energy direct from the source, from God. The duality of the
human existence ( good vs. evil, right vs. wrong ) through our
awareness, and the way we have "separated" ourselves from the
divine is the source of all suffering, stress, Self Esteem issues
and conflict in our perceived reality. It is time to awaken to our
true purpose on this planet, in this life time and take our place
among the stars. We must be present in the NOW more than ever.

On the Horizon, Political
Outlook:
The Compassion
of George Bush - NOT! Ok. So it's no secret how I feel about
this man. In my opinion, he's the absolute WORST president this
country has ever seen. His total disregard for human life is
deplorable, whether it's in Iraq, anywhere else in the world, or
right here in our own back yard. He's been the instigator
(supposedly, but that's another story) behind taking away freedoms
we previously took for granted, if we ever truly had them. And
now, according to a July 18, 2007
news story taken from The Congressional Record, Bush has
stated that he will veto a bill which would ban the use of
thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative, which is used in
vaccines that have been shown to cause autism in children, thus
flagrantly going against his re-election campaign promise.
So what does
his natal chart say about his character? The man is full of
contradictions, which is borne out, astrologically. In fact, he's
his own worst enemy, which is further verified by his 12th
House Sun. Nothing, specifically, against 12th House
Suns, mind you. In fact, I have one myself. But I also know how
easy it is to be one's 'own worst enemy' with a 12th
House Sun. And from what I can see, both as a US citizen living
under the Bush regime and as an astrologer, he has certainly lived
up to that designation.
The Compassion of George Bush
...and an
astrological update of the US President
President Bush recently showed his compassionate nature when he
commuted the prison sentence of his loyal soldier Scooter Libby
because he felt the sentence was "excessive." He demonstrated a
great deal of sympathy for the man who merely lied to protect him
and decried the suffering of his wife and children. Still, I was
reminded that this was the same man who, while governor, was the
overseer over more executions than any other governors in recent
US history. Bush explained in his autobiography that it was not
his job to "replace the verdict of a jury unless there are new
facts or evidence of which a jury was unaware, or evidence that
the trial was somehow unfair" and therefore it was not up to him
to pardon those that were sentenced to death. This is the same man
that observed the wreckage of New Orleans from 5,000 feet and
seems to care little for the hundreds of thousands of Iraqis
killed in his war of liberation.

Meditation Tames Emotions?
Brain Scans Reveal Why Meditation Works If you name your
emotions, you can tame them, according to new research that
suggests why meditation works.
Brain scans show that putting negative emotions into words
calms the brain's emotion center. That could explain meditation's
purported emotional benefits, because people who meditate often
label their negative emotions in an effort to "let them go."
Psychologists have long believed that people who talk about
their feelings have more control over them, but they don't know
why it works. Read

Earth Changes Updates:
Is Time Speeding Up?
While this may not seem to be part of the Earth Changes Updates
section, according to Gordon Michael Scallion, the Earth Changes
expert, the concept of time speeding up is part of the earth
change phenomenon. And yet, it isn't. That is, time isn't
actually speeding up, says Mr. Scallion. Although this may be
true, what Mr. Scallion doesn't mention, is that one of the
reasons it seems to be speeding up is because more is happening in
a shorter period of time, giving the impression that there isn't
enough time in a day to do everything we once did before.

Princeton Physicists Connect String Theory with Established
Physics
"String theory, simultaneously one of the most promising and
controversial ideas in modern physics, may be more capable of
helping probe the inner workings of subatomic particles than was
previously thought, according to a team of Princeton University
scientists."
The
theory has been highly praised by some physicists for its
potential to forge the long-sought link between gravity and the
forces that dominate within the atomic nucleus. But the theory --
which posits that all subatomic particles are actually tiny
"strings" that vibrate in different ways -- has also drawn
criticism for being untestable in the laboratory, and perhaps
impossible to connect with real-world phenomena.

Evolution of Consciousness:
Bridging the
Gap Between 2012 and the Evolution of Consciousness - Or is it
2011?
I love the
challenge of solving a good mystery. And in my studies over the
years, one of the mysteries in which I have been deeply engrossed
and that neither myself, nor anyone else (to my knowledge) has
solved, is the disappearance of an entire civilization - the
Maya. Well, not the 'entire' civilization, since some 8 million
descendants of the Maya are extant today in parts of the Yucatan
in Mexico, and in other areas of Central America. Yet, theories
abound as to the reason why several hundred years ago entire
villages seem to have vanished without a trace, leaving cooking
utensils and other paraphernalia in mid-use, behind. Where did
they go?
I have a
theory that I have yet to see posited elsewhere: Is it possible
that in their highly evolved state of consciousness, the Maya
ascended to the 5th Dimension? And is it possible that
our solar system's journey through the photon belt - which is
taking us ever closer to the Galactic Center - might not also have
something to do with their disappearance, as well as with some
people's experiences of invisibility?
Another
question comes to mind based on the Mayan teaching that the 'Big
Bang,' or the inception of the Universe, occurred some 16.4
BILLION years ago: How is it that their mathematicians and
astronomers/astrologers were so accurate in their calculations,
and where did the Maya come by this information?

Have
you noticed that time seems to be speeding up? Is it only your
imagination, or is there some other explanation? What does the

what to expect over the next five years? Is this truly the End of
Time, or merely a transition from one state of consciousness to a
more evolved state of consciousness? Check out this two-part

The Mayan Calendar - Tracking Evolution of
Consciousness
The Mayan culture has undergone substantial changes throughout its
existence. It is part of the wider context of Mesoamerican
civilization that stretched from Central America into present day
southern United States. This civilization was based on the
cultivation of Maize and shared the Sacred 260 day calendar. It is
estimated that the Maya started to cultivate Maize about 5000
years ago, around the time set for the beginning of their Long
Count. It is however only at about the time of Christ that we can
talk about the emergence of a high culture among the Maya.

events that occurred between the time I was twelve and eighteen,
a short time later I chose to follow my own counsel and ended up

stopping to think of the consequences of my actions. And even
though I sincerely believed that I was doing the best thing I

Parallel Worldsby
Michio Kaku Although physics can be one of the most
daunting of the scientific disciplines to comprehend, Kaku
does an excellent job of bringing its mind-boggling
mathematical jargon down to a level easily understandable by
the non-physicist, while adhering to the integrity of the
science, itself.
And while E=mc2
made a name for Einstein and gave physics and the world in
general both the General and Special Theories of Relativity,
is it possible that we may now be able to say, "Move over
Einstein, here comes the M-theory" ?
As, theoretical physicist Dr.
Kaku - who is a professor at the City University of New York
- states, and as every good physicist (and many
non-physicists) knows, even Einstein was not totally
satisfied with his General and Special Theories of
Relativity, and thus strove to develop a 'Theory of
Everything.' This theory would, in effect, be capable of
making possible such nebulous and seemingly inexplicable
concepts as multiple dimensions and universes, worm holes,
time travel, teleportation, invisibility and other
mysterious cosmological anomalies.

Ask Kat Insightful Heart Relationship Advice Forum
Ask Kat is a discussion board format for adults who are looking
for compassionate, sincere, and real advice about life, love,
relationships, and all those hurdles we navigate in our lives.
Questions from the Insightful Heart Relationship Advice Forum:
Dear Kat:
First,
I wish to thank you for the past reports and readings you've done
for me. Your intuition and accuracy are just what's needed in
today's ever confusing world. Like so very many others, I am in
quite a lot of pain 24/7 with very little help if any at all from
meds. I've noticed that the weather affects my pain level,
increasing it with low pressure days and alleviating it somewhat
on nice sunny, high pressure days. My body feels every hurricane
that enters the Gulf of Mexico and I'm miles and miles away! I've
noticed that full moons have an affect on me and the closer they
are to Earth, the higher my level of pain. It seems there is even
a correlation with sunspots and solar flares and even eclipse
events. So, I'm wondering if the stars and planets and their
transits can also have an affect on my pain levels? Seems that
they should. For the past week or so, the pain I'm feeling is so
intense I can barely get up out of bed. I'm even having daily
headaches, which I never have. You have all my natal information
and location, so could you please see if there's a connection to
my intense pain and current astrological chart? And, if so, how
long is this going to last and is there anything I can do to help?
I'm shielded already as best as I can, Reiki turned on almost
constantly, my property is cleared with the deva here very happy,
and the appropriate rocks/crystals around me all the time. If
there is some way to forecast these high intensity pain level
spikes, then I could schedule my days more appropriately.
In Pain & Out of Ideas
=======================================
Dear In and Out:
At the risk
of coming across as insensitive, and for the
benefit of other readers, I must extend this legal
disclaimer: I am not a medical professional, nor a medical
intuitive. Therefore, anything I, or any employee of Starwolf
Astrology Services, say(s) should not be construed as medical
advice.
That out of
the way, what I can say is this: I have wondered about this
myself. A very good friend of mine is experiencing this same
thing. Consequently, I've been looking into the correlation of
pain episodes and planetary transits. While I don't have a
definitive answer just yet, as most astrologers and other
thinking people would probably agree, it seems that the five
'planets' which might feed into pain are the Sun, the Moon,
Pluto, Mars and Saturn and possibly Chiron, but that last is a
big IF. Whether or not they actually are, I won't be able to
say until I've had a bit more of a chance to look at the data
currently being extrapolated from a somewhat semi- longitudinal
study being conducted with my friend. I Sense that there must
be a connection between Moon phases, solar flares, eclipses,
stressful planetary transits and elevated pain levels, but
again, I won't know exactly what that is until I can interpret
the collective data. Still, identifying the source of the pain
is only half the problem. Transits are transits, and it seems
to me that as long as we're geocentrically located, encountering
stressful transits will happen, regardless of our location. The
challenge will be in figuring out how to alleviate the pain by
shielding from the bombardment of whatever 'planetary'
electromagnetic or other disturbances are being emitted by
transiting planets. So, all I can say for right now is: stay
tuned. I'm still looking into it.
