      When Planets Collide
Violence Indicators in the Natal and Synastric Chart Part 1 of 2    |
      | Have you ever wondered if there was a way to determine
whether you and another are prone to be violent towards each other? Have
you noticed some alarming traits in someone with whom you’ve considered
moving to the next relationship level? Have you considered withdrawing
from a relationship because your Significant Other demonstrates signs
which denote a Violence Indicator, Power Struggle, Classic Schism,
Battlefield or Fatal Attraction connection? Noting the stressful
placements of several key planets will arm you with the information you
need to either facilitate the improvement of your current relationship, or
steer clear of potential danger. Sometimes there’s just no way we can help the way we
react to certain individuals who activate us. Well, maybe we can
control ourselves – if we choose to. But oftentimes it’s all we can do
not to react. But the fact is, there are some individuals to whom we
are instinctively drawn, and others by whom we are immediately repulsed
and/or angered. Underlying Cause of Violent Tendencies Aside from either general or specific external
situations, there are several astrological personal, as well as synastric
or compatibility connections between certain key planets which indicate
whether you and another are prone to violent tendencies within a
relationship, whether intimate, familial, friendship, work-related or
otherwise. Astrological Violence Indicators in the Natal and
Synastric Chart Mars square Pluto is one form of this aspect. A Pluto
opposition Mars is another challenging aspect, as is (according to some
astrologers) a conjunct Pluto and Mars, or Pluto and Mars in the 8th or
12th Houses. Even Saturn in a stressful (square, quincunx or opposition)
aspect to either Mars or Pluto can create conditions which encourage
violence in the personal natal chart. And those are just natal aspects (aspects in our
personal birth chart, versus synastric aspects we make with other
individuals). As for the 12th House, although it has a reputation for
‘hiding’ things, that’s not really what it does. It’s more of a repressive
action; which in many cases is a good thing. Yet, for those individuals
with Mars in the 12th, don’t think they never get angry. That is far from
the case. Generally what happens is that they will repress the anger until
one day something major ignites the fuse and you’d better hope that you’re
not in the way, because whether or not you’re the cause of that anger,
you’re going to get it. What about relationships? Whereas, Mars square or
opposition Pluto is a major indicator of violence, these aspects are by no
means the only violence indicators. The combination of Saturn – which creates restriction –
and Pluto are a volatile duo, as well. The restrictive action of Saturn
causes Pluto to explode, and if Mars is anywhere in the picture, violence
is pretty much guaranteed. What form that will take, however, is up to the
individuals involved. Both Pluto and Mars square and opposite Neptune can
create some pretty interesting fireworks, too, as well as illusions and
delusions of grandeur about one’s abilities or role in a relationship. Personal Aspects Table Personal aspects for which to look in an individual’s
natal chart which would indicate a tendency* towards violent behavior are:

 |
      |

          | Planets | Aspects | Connection Descriptor |
          | Mars/Sun | Conjunct, Square, Opposition | Warrior Aspect (Aggressive and fiery nature, especially if in a
          fire sign) |
          | Mars/Pluto | Conjunct, Square, Opposition | Superman/Superwoman (Believes him/herself invincible; generally
extremely pushy and aggressive, attempting to get their own way)
           |
          | Jupiter/Saturn | Square, Quincunx, Opposition | Fallen Angel (Nice girl/boy gone bad) |
          | Saturn/Pluto | Square, Quincunx, Opposition | Master of the Universe (Believes she/he knows and is the best at
everything, and if restricted, can become extremely volatile) | *NOTE: Merely because the
tendency is there, however, does not necessarily mean that the individual
will act on it. The placement and aspects of other planets in the natal
chart can greatly mitigate the challenging planetary placements in
question. To determine whether the possibility exists that the native
might act on these tendencies, other planetary placements between the
Moon, Venus, Jupiter, Neptune and the Sun should be taken into
      consideration, as well.

          | Mars/Sun | Conjunct, Square, Opposition | Power Struggle (Prone to vie for control at the expense of peace)

          | Mars/Neptune | Square, Opposition | Battlefield (Constant arguments and fighting, usually on a

          | Mars/Pluto | Square, Opposition | Violence Indicator (Extremely violent connection; can be fatal if

          | Mars/Saturn | Square, Quincunx, Opposition | Classic Schism (Creates division mentally and emotionally; the

          both) |
          | Sun/Neptune | Square, Opposition | Classic Schism (Creates division mentally and emotionally; The Sun
creates a lesser degree of aggression than Mars, while Neptune creates
a distortion of reality which often causes aggression) |
          | Sun/Pluto | Square, Opposition | Fatal Attraction (Named after the movie of the same name, creates a
situation where one or both individuals stalk the other, attempting to
force unwanted advances on the other and which often result in
          physically aggressive behavior) |
          | Saturn/Pluto | Square, Quincunx, Opposition | Violence Indicator (Extremely violent connection; the restriction of
Saturn creates an added element of frustration and anger and can also
be fatal if located in the 8th House in a composite |    |
      | Yet, what if you and your Significant Other truly love
each other and want to find an amicable solution, or violent planetary
placements are present in situations which are not conducive to
extrication, such as between you and a family member, work-mate or
employer? Is there a way to alleviate the stressors that create volatile
and even fatal situations, or should you just call it quits where that
particular relationship is concerned? In Part 2 of the Violence Indicator series, we will
explore possible ways to alleviate stressors, which assist in
circumventing violent behavioral tendencies. What do you think works best? I’d like to hear your
ideas on ways to avoid violence in relationships. Send me your thoughts,
